PROGRAMS

7:00 pm - 7:10 pm - Welcome
Sky Ranger Rich Fefferman from the Gateway Arch will lead off this FREE program by describing some exciting upcoming sky events. These include a rare Blue Moon, the close approach of Mars to Earth, and a "Great Conjunction" of Jupiter and Saturn in December.

7:10 pm - 7:20 pm - "Dark Sky Friendly Home Lighting Program"
Dark Sky Missouri President Don Ficken will discuss the International Dark-Sky Association program to certify your home as dark sky friendly.

7:20 pm - 8:00 pm - "Virtual Stargazing"
St. Louis Astronomical Society member John Strebeck will then provide a narrated planetarium-style tour of the night sky using the Stellarium program. Finally, Mark Jones will highlight video images of the Moon, planets, and other objects submitted by himself and other SLAS members.
