Learn how to shoot the Milky Way, including using apps for planning, camera equipment and focusing techniques.
Speaker:
Lonnie Gatlin is an award winning photographer with more than 30 years of experience. Professionally, she has served as photojournalist, bio-medical photographer, writer, sports journalist and assistant broadcast news director in the St. Louis, MO area. During the World Wide Web boom in the late 1990s, Lonnie’s technical aptitude for computer technology lead her to a career change in web-based software development in the healthcare field. She has served as an applications analyst for 19 years.
Lonnie’s photography and multi-media presentations have been recognized by the American Association of Business Communicators, the American Red Cross, St. Louis Community College, and the United Way. In 2008, Lonnie won Scott Kelby's first Worldwide Photo Walk for the St. Louis region. From 2010-2016, she won several top honors in the St. Louis Photographer’s Showcase sponsored by Studio Altius and Schillers, including showcase winner in 2012. In 2017, she won Best of Show in the Wildlife Art & Photography Exhibition. Her photos have appeared on book covers and are also are featured in a book, Nature's Affirmations, Inspirations of Nature, by Melanie DePorter.
